StreamBridge system provides Cable operators with efficient digital operations bridging between legacy and new digital media and information streams. The CR30 is an extensible, easy to use system platform that adds critical functionality to both new and legacy digital cable head-end equipment, while delivering low operational cost. With the StreamBridge platform, a variety of applications can be supported
PSIP Grooming and Cross Channel Promotion: The CR30 allows the cable system not only to be fully interoperable with CableCARD/ Digital Cable Ready TV Receivers, but delivers enhanced functionality to take advantage of new capabilities. StreamBridge can import channel and line up information from a variety of sources including listing services, Traffic and automation systems, digital head-end systems and broadcast/ network feeds. It then translates, merges and grooms PSIP/ SI information to assure compliance with relevant SCTE standards for CableCARD receivers. This functionality can be used for cross-channel promotion, operator-branding, and advertising of premium services on the IPGs of CableCARD receivers, providing a high return on investment.
Analog to Digital Cue Tone Translation: Since StreamBridge converts analog cue tones and manages SCTE35 Digital Program Insertion (DPI) messages, cable head-ends may be converted to fully digital systems. This allows for the elimination of parallel infrastructure maintenance and operational costs.
Digital EAS Management: A third component of the system is a highly automated Digital EAS message generation and management for CableCARD receivers. EAS receivers for analog head-ends can be used, preserving investment, simplifying operations, and enabling a seamless transition from analog to digital transmission.
