Triveni Digital to Highlight the Uniqueness of ATSC 3.0 at 2022 IEEE Broadcast Symposium

PRINCETON, N.J. - October 18, 2022 Mark Corl, Senior VP of Emergent Technology Development, Triveni Digital

Triveni Digital today announced that the company’s senior vice president of emergent technology development, Mark Corl, will present a session on ATSC 3.0 at the 2022 IEEE Broadcast Symposium. “What's Different With ATSC 3.0? Combining Broadcast and Broadband,” will provide an overview of key technologies in ATSC 3.0, including the IP layer, signaling and announcement, and the interactive presentation of content that enables broadcast and broadband convergence.

“ATSC 3.0 is a significant evolution from previous broadcasting standards,” said Corl. “My session at the IEEE Broadcast Symposium will highlight fundamental differences of ATSC 3.0 compared with previous standards, as well as the synergies between traditional broadcast television and over-the-top broadband distribution of TV content. I’ll also examine the innovative technologies that NEXTGEN TV leverages from broadband distribution.”

The session will explain, with examples, why the consumption of television does not need to be siloed by the means of delivery, i.e., broadcast or broadband. The session will discuss the implications of this idea on the production and distribution of content in the new converged environment of NEXTGEN TV.

Corl is currently the chair of the ATSC 3.0 Specialist Group on Interactive Content, a member of the ATSC board of directors, and the chair of the ATSC India Implementation Team. With over 25 years of experience and extensive contributions in product engineering and architecture, Corl will bring an unparalleled understanding of ATSC 3.0 to the IEEE Broadcast Symposium session.

Corl’s IEEE Broadcast Symposium session will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 9:10 a.m. at the Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island, Florida. More information about the session is available here.
