Triveni Digital to Tackle Enterprisewide DTV Quality Assurance at 2008 NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference
Ralph Bachofen, Director of Product Management and Marketing, to Provide Overview of Essential Elements in a Successful Centralized Quality Assurance Architecture
PRINCETON, NJ - February 11, 2008
Triveni Digital, a subsidiary of LG Electronics (LGE), today announced that Ralph Bachofen, the company’s director of product management and marketing, will be presenting “Systemwide Video Quality Assurance ? a look at monitoring elements critical to the delivery of high-quality DTV service,” during the 2008 NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference, April 12-17, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Bachofen will address the challenges of establishing efficient and reliable quality assurance across an enterprise, as well as outline key components in a successful centralized stream-monitoring and quality-assurance strategy.
“Digital television broadcasting has become quite complex, making it difficult to ensure that the quality of the broadcast meets standards necessary for viewer satisfaction and retention,” said Bachofen. “Business pressures compound the challenge of quality assurance by demanding consolidation of operations and expertise across station groups. An effective architecture that enables centralized monitoring, analysis, and resolution of faults over an entire network or service not only supports a high standard of service, but also reduces overall operational costs.”
During his presentation, Bachofen will focus on five components of quality assurance including automated monitoring, active analysis and troubleshooting, consolidation of systemwide information for evaluation, communication of report and alarm data, and configuration of all monitoring and analysis systems in a centralized model. Together, these factors provide an integrated view of monitoring, enable higher-quality service, and streamline broadcast operations.
Bachofen has more than 15 years of experience in the voice and multimedia over Internet Protocol (IP), telecommunications, and semiconductor markets. Prior to taking on leadership of Triveni Digital’s product management and marketing group, he was manager of product marketing at Conexant Systems, a semiconductor company driving broadband communications for the digital home. His professional career also includes senior technical and marketing roles at Siemens and Accelerated Networks.
“Systemwide Video Quality Assurance” is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on April 16, in LVCC room S226/227.
