Ensignia Emergency Services Network (ESN) solution for the scheduling and
data broadcasting of information. Monroe County’s ETIN is a new generation,
region wide, public safety communications network made possible by ongoing
partnerships with public TV station WXXI, the Department of Homeland
Security and Triveni Digital.
On September 15th, 2006, the presentation titled “Emergency Management
Communications via Digital TV Data Broadcast” will be given at three
different sessions:

• 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm and
• 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
in Meeting Room #D175 at the Dallas Convention Center. An RSVP by September

ETIN addresses the information needs of emergency services agencies by providing reliable, secure, timely, and efficient distribution of disaster alerts and training materials to large screen displays in first responders’ facilities. At present, the new network serves agency sites of the Rochester Fire Department, Monroe County Fire Bureau, Rochester Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe County EMS, Monroe County Health Department, and six area hospitals.
Agency sites equipped with an integrated broadband receiver within a seventy-five mile radius of WXXI have access to continuously updated vital information, stored on a local disk and instantly available. This information includes emergency alerts, information bulletins, weather reports and forecasts, radar and satellite maps, Homeland Security threat information, an event and shift assignment calendar, and a library containing training materials, equipment manuals, administrative manuals and forms, and many other types of information.
