New Transport Stream Monitoring System from Triveni Digital Supports Both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 Streams
StreamScope™ MT-40 Analyzes DTV Signals Carried by Broadcast, Cable, IPTV, Mobile or Satellite Networks

PRINCETON, NJ — April 7, 2006

Triveni Digital has enhanced its product portfolio to support MPEG-4 deployments for digital television (DTV) services. Debuting at NAB2006 in Triveni Digital’s booth #SU1999, the real-time StreamScope™ MT-40 is the next generation in end-to-end, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 transport stream monitoring and analysis for DTV signals carried by broadcast, cable, IPTV, mobile or satellite networks.

“MPEG-4 encoded streams are a natural choice for deployments where bandwidth is constrained,” said Ralph Bachofen, Director of Product Management at Triveni Digital. “To assist our customers as they incorporate these new streams into their operations, the MT-40 provides excellent MPEG-4 and MPEG-2 validation and troubleshooting features for either environment exclusively or simultaneously.”

Designed with both broadcasters and multiple service operators in mind, the MT-40 features ASI, QPSK, 64/256 QAM, VSB, SMPTE 310 and Gigabit Ethernet, plus file inputs and interfaces to the GuideBuilder™ metadata management systems for Triveni Digital’s new Business Intent Assurance™ feature. Stream profiling and comparison, template learning, remote monitoring capabilities, and IP routes analysis are managed via user-friendly interfaces.

Retaining the features of previous StreamScope MT versions, the MT-40’s sophisticated distributed monitoring architecture is enhanced with 5th generation 8-VSB receiver technology. A visualization station may be configured to monitor multiple systems over an Intranet or Internet connection. The award-winning graphical interface, with an at-a-glance transport stream summary display, saves engineering troubleshooting time by translating complex information into easy-to-read status indicators and messages. In addition, the new template learning feature allows broadcasters to easily create templates and distribute them to local stations minimizing crucial configuration time. StreamScope MT-40 can display HD and SD audio/video programs of all ATSC, DVB, and SCTE formats.

The StreamScope MT-40 will be available in the second quarter of 2006.
