Triveni Digital is demonstrating significant improvements across all major product lines in its booth, #SU1999, at the NAB2006 convention this April in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company’s popular StreamScope monitoring lineup has been markedly enhanced to encompass a broad range of options for enterprise-wide stream monitoring and troubleshooting. A major emphasis this year is on systems that support practical data broadcasting applications. Enhanced PSIP and DVB-SI generation systems will also be displayed. The advanced solutions powered by Triveni Digital support the cost-effective deployment of innovative new services enabled by digital TV.
New StreamScope™ RM-40 Monitoring Appliance and StreamScope MT-40 Monitoring and Analysis System to Debut at NAB2006
Triveni Digital is introducing 4th generation StreamScope™ systems with substantial new capabilities. The StreamScope product line targeted for DTV networks enables efficient stream quality monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting on an enterprise-wide scale. Indispensable in the station or any network location, rack-mountable and portable models are available with ASI, VSB, SMPTE 310, QAM, 8VSB, QPSK and Gigabit Ethernet input support. The new StreamScope products work together to enable cost-effective deployment across a broadcast operation, whether on a local, regional, or national scale, and the systems have open interfaces to enable easy integration with third party products. The use of standard formats for capturing of recorded streams helps achieve this high-level of third party integration support. Innovative elements of the new StreamScope architecture include a rule-based monitoring system and associated rule creation tools, the Business Intent Assurance™ feature and stream transformation monitoring.
Making its first public appearance, the all-new StreamScope™ RM-40 is a low cost stream monitoring appliance. The real-time RM-40 remotely monitors, measures, records, and analyzes DTV streams to ensure their integrity, reliability, and compliance with standards. The RM-40 can be monitored from any SNMP agent in the network and alarms can be distributed via email, SMS, or SNMP traps. In addition, interfaces to GuideBuilder™ metadata management systems and the Business Intent Assurance feature validate that the streams are well formed from a standards perspective, and automatically ensure that the streams comply with the business model of the operation. Other RM-40 innovations include stream profiling and comparison and template learning. The small form factor unit is virtually maintenance free and may be placed anywhere in the broadcast network including repeater stations where there may be no on-site staff.
Also debuting at NAB2006 is StreamScope™ MT-40, the next generation in end-to-end, MPEG-2/MPEG-4 transport stream monitoring and analysis for DTV signals carried by broadcast, cable, satellite, IPTV, or mobile networks. Key features include QPSK, 64/256 QAM, ASI and GigE, plus file inputs, remote monitoring capabilities, and IP routes analysis.
New Features for GuideBuilder PSIP and DVB-SI Generation Systems
Triveni Digital has once again improved its GuideBuilder™ product
family, the industry’s leading metadata management systems. GuideBuilder systems enable broadcasters, service providers and cable operators to retain and enhance market branding and protect channel identities in on-screen program guides. New features include full redundancy, XML ingest with PMCP, and XML export for automatic WEB page creation. PMCP support facilitates communication within a broadcast plant for maintenance of up-to-the minute accuracy in program information for receivers which can help minimizes PVR recording glitches. The intuitive interface for managing program event information and flexible architecture ensure smooth operational integration. GuideBuilder products can import program data from a wide variety of traffic systems, automation systems, and commercial listing services.
Data Broadcasting Demonstrations to Include Digital Signage, Homeland Security, and Education Applications
Data broadcasting applications are created and deployed with the versatile SkyScraper™ content distribution
platform. The platform enables the point-to-multipoint delivery of any digital content over cable, satellite, terrestrial and IP networks. Content supported includes digital files, media streams, IP traffic, software downloads, and iTV programming. Applications include B2B data delivery, digital signage, homeland security, push VOD, and education programming. The SkyScraper product family supports a wide variety of receivers including wireless devices, set-top boxes, and LCD screens with integrated controllers. Skyscraper systems deployed in broadcast stations already cover more that 50% of US households.
Digital signage applications allow advertising content to be updated quickly and efficiently. Triveni Digital’s new
SkyScraper™ Ensignia product suite is a collection of products from Triveni Digital and its partners that uniquely addresses the needs of the digital signage market. These turnkey solutions optimize bandwidth utilization and allow for scheduled content distribution based on service level agreements (SLAs). Advertising content displayed can range from simple text and still images to full-motion video, with or without audio. LCD screens with integrated controllers simplify installations and maintenance while reducing footprint requirements.
Recently introduced, the SkyScraper™ Emergency Services Network (ESN) solution provides reliable, secure, timely, and efficient distribution of disaster alerts, training materials and operational communications to emergency responders. Systems within SkyScraper toolkits create custom applications for information delivery and viewing. Communication networks can be designed for simultaneous use by multiple public safety agencies.
Using SkyScraper as a base system has allowed a number of PBS stations to deliver high quality education material. Features to be demonstrated at NAB2006 for advanced distance learning and training applications include playback of classes, live video stream delivery, creating virtual classrooms, content on demand, and connectivity to existing learning management systems.
Triveni Digital team members will be available for consultations, product demonstrations, and interviews at the show.
