Triveni Digital Debuts Next Generation DTV Transport Stream Monitor and Analyzer at NAB2004
StreamScope MT-30 Supports Multiple Input Streams and Includes Enhancements for Remote Monitoring
PRINCETON, NJ — April 8, 2004
Triveni Digital is debuting the next generation of its real-time DTV transport stream monitor and analyzer family at NAB2004 in its booth #SU11936. StreamScope MT-30 retains all the features of the StreamScope MT-25, supports multiple input streams and includes remote monitoring enhancements. In addition, a new in-depth RF monitoring feature analyzes the strength and quality of an 8-VSB signal. The MT-30 systems can be distributed within various locations of a cable, broadcast, satellite or telco operation to ensure the integrity and reliability of DTV streams while minimizing the time it takes to diagnose and correct problems.
Engineered for distributed monitoring, StreamScope MT-30 allows broadcasters and cable operators to remotely supervise multiple concurrent input sources from diverse physical locations. A key differentiater is the system’s ability to simultaneously monitor and analyze all inputs and sources, from all locations within a single user interface. A visualization station may be configured to monitor multiple systems over an Intranet or Internet connection. The award-winning graphical interface, with an at-a-glance transport stream summary display, saves engineering troubleshooting time by translating complex information into easy-to-read status indicators and messages. This is ideal for monitoring multichannel operations, or multiple points in the signal chain of one channel. StreamScope MT-30 can display HD and SD audio/video programs of all ATSC, DVB and SCTE formats.
New StreamScope MT-30 Ensures Integrity and Reliability of DTV Signals
"The StreamScope MT-30 allows an engineer to rapidly track down and identify DTV stream issues in complex distribution, transmission and delivery networks" said Nandhu Nandhakumar, Vice President of Engineering and CTO of Triveni Digital. "This new product can monitor large sets of test points using a rich collection of test parameters, allowing rapid, targeted and proactive response to anomalies in any DTV plant."
Available in both rack-mountable and portable models, with ASI, VSB, SMPTE 310, QAM and Gigabit Ethernet input support, StreamScope MT-30 is indispensable in the station or head-end and out in the field. StreamScope MT-30 monitors, measures, and analyzes DTV streams and signals in real-time to ensure their integrity, reliability and compliance with MPEG-2, ATSC and SCTE standards. The system’s ability to record and playback streams in a non-proprietary format allows engineers to capture streams that can then be reviewed immediately or that can be sent to a variety of equipment.
"You don’t have to be a DTV expert to use this product, but it can make you look like one," added Rich Chernock, Product Manager at Triveni Digital.
Data monitored includes MPEG-2 PSI, ATSC PSIP, SCTE 35 digital cue tones, data content in the stream, and a wide range of other audio and video parameters. Metadata analysis checks consistency within PSIP and between PSIP and MPEG-2 PSI metadata in the stream. StreamScope MT-30 supports terrestrial distribution, contribution and primary distribution, cable head-end monitoring, telco DTV head-ends and DTH or network operator satellite uplink monitoring applications.
