Rohde & Schwarz (US) Signs Reseller Agreement with Triveni Digital
StreamScope™ Analysis Technology Integrated with DVRG Stream Recorder Generator; Demonstration at NAB2003
COLUMBIA, MD and PRINCETON, NJ — April 2, 2003

Triveni Digital, the leading solutions provider for data-enhanced digital broadcasting, and Rohde & Schwarz (US), a global leader in transmission and measurement technology, have signed a reseller agreement. The agreement enables Rohde & Schwarz to sell Triveni Digital's StreamScope™, GuideBuilder™ and StreamBridge™ systems into the North American terrestrial broadcast and cable markets.

"Our broadcast and cable customers have come to expect a complete portfolio of DTV transmission, monitoring and measurement technology from Rohde & Schwarz," said John Pannucci, President and COO, Rohde & Schwarz, Inc. "The Triveni Digital systems allow us to expand our portfolio with a set of market leading tools renowned for their quality and ease of use. These tools will make it easier for our customers to fully transition to, and operate a reliable and efficient digital television platform."

"Rohde & Schwarz is a recognized leader of television analysis products with a substantial client base through North America," said Mark Simpson, President and CEO of Triveni Digital. "We are pleased that they have chosen to expand their product portfolio with our market leading solutions. We are also excited to be exploring ways to further integrate the technology of our two companies and look forward to working with them in addressing the evolving needs of our customers."

To further enhance DTV transport stream analysis for broadcasters and cable operators, the companies have validated the compatibility between Triveni Digital’s StreamScope MT-25 ATSC Transport Stream Monitor and Analyzer software and Rohde & Schwarz’ DVRG stream recorder generator. The result is a highly effective digital broadcasting lab instrument that can analyze files recorded by and stored in the DVRG. It minimizes the time it takes to diagnose and correct problems while ensuring the integrity and reliability of DTV streams. A demonstration of the integrated system will be on display in the Triveni Digital booth # SU5475 at NAB2003.

About Triveni Digital's StreamScope, GuideBuilder and StreamBridge

  • StreamScope MT-25 monitors, measures, and analyzes the DTV streams and signals to ensure they are error-free and comply with the ATSC standards. New features include an at-a-glance transport stream summary display, support for closed captioning, and tools for cable head-end analysis.
  • GuideBuilder metadata management systems are used by DTV broadcasters worldwide to collect, translate, manage, and generate PSIP metadata compliant with the ATSC/A65 standard. The complete product family has been enhanced to support the Broadcast Flag, centralcasting, and distributed control through remote user interfaces.
  • The StreamBridge™ AG metadata and data translation system bridges off-air terrestrial DTV broadcast streams into digital cable head-end systems. The system ensures the delivery of critical tuning, branding, and program guide metadata for "in-the-clear" signals to cable-ready DTV receivers. StreamBridge AG automates and simplifies compliance with terrestrial-to-cable cross-carriage agreements including the NCTA-CEA agreement for carrying ATSC signals over local cable infrastructures.
