Harris Corporation to Expand Its Broadcast Product Portfolio with Triveni Digital's Datacasting Technology and Stream Analysis Tools
Expansion to the Current Agreement will Enable Harris' DTV Customers to Purchase Products Based on Triveni Digital’s SkyScraper™ Datacasting Platform and StreamScope™ ATSC Transport Stream Monitor and Analyzer

NAB2003, Harris Booth # C404 and Triveni Digital Booth # SU5475 — Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) and Triveni Digital today announced that the Broadcast Communications Division of Harris is expanding its product offerings with Triveni Digital's datacasting and stream analysis tools. The current agreement between Harris and Triveni will be expanded to allow Harris to augment and repackage the SkyScraper™ datacasting platform and StreamScope™ ATSC Transport Stream Monitor and Analyzer, and will include joint product development based on these product platforms. In addition, Harris and Triveni Digital will be collaborating on the design and implementation of innovative datacasting applications that will create sustainable business value for DTV-enabled stations. The products are being showcased at NAB2003 in Harris' and Triveni Digital's booths, C404 and SU5475, respectively.
Harris currently manufactures, sells and supports the Triveni-based PSIPplus™, metadata management system that is optimized to work with the Harris Flexicoder. The system allows a digital television station to easily assemble, edit and broadcast the necessary data to support channel branding, electronic program guide service, and dynamic signaling of parameters such as closed captions, ratings information, and broadcast flag, associated with single or multi-channel ATSC broadcasting.

Triveni Digital's SkyScraper™ datacasting system is a platform for managing data to be broadcast through the digital television infrastructure. New features for receiver targeting, encryption, and support for multi-station networks provide increased opportunities for broadcasters and content providers to design and deploy innovative, revenue-generating solutions using digital television. The system includes broadcast plant servers, to manage the data flow from content providers into the broadcast stream, and customer-site receivers to extract the data from the broadcast and make it available to end-users.
Triveni Digital's StreamScope MT-25 monitors, measures, and analyzes the DTV streams and signals to ensure they are error-free and comply with the ATSC standards. New features include an at-a-glance transport stream summary display, support for closed captioning, and variable bit rate analysis. Both terrestrial broadcasters and cable operators can use StreamScope MT-25 to minimize the time it takes to diagnose and correct problems while ensuring the integrity and reliability of their DTV streams. A variant of the StreamScope MT-25 will be offered as part of the Harris Monitor Plus rack, while the full-featured MT-25 will be available on a standalone basis.
