Bigband networks and triveni digital collaborating on integrated digital broadcast solution
Joint Solution Combines BigBand Networks' BMR™ and Triveni Digital's ATSC-Cable StreamBridge™ Metadata Groomer for Off-air SDTV and HDTV Carriage over Cable

BigBand Networks, Inc., a leading provider of broadband multimedia routing systems for broadcast television and advanced services, announced today its collaboration with Triveni Digital. The two companies are co-marketing and developing an integrated, standards-compliant solution enabling cable operators to deliver off-air digital television (DTV) broadcasts. This solution combines capabilities of Triveni Digital's ATSC-Cable StreamBridge metadata groomer with BigBand Networks' Broadband Multimedia-Service Router (BMR) digital broadcast functionality.

The ATSC-Cable StreamBridge is a highly automated system that provides appropriate PSIP tables to cable networks from DTV signals. The BMR interfaces with the ATSC-Cable StreamBridge, and grooms resulting video and data content onto the cable plant by creating multiplexes combining SDTV and HDTV, with RateShaping™ bit rate adaptation as determined by the operator.
Interoperability of the BMR and the ATSC-Cable StreamBridge has been established, and the companies are currently enhancing integration of their systems. BigBand Networks and Triveni Digital have agreed to also participate in joint marketing, sales, and ongoing product development activities.
