Triveni Digital and Dotcast Announce ATSC Data Broadcasting Integration
Triveni Digital SkyScraper and Dotcast Digital Network open New Revenue Streams for DTV Broadcasters
Las Vegas, (NAB2002), April 7, 2002
Triveni Digital Inc. (LVCC South Hall booth L18764), the leading provider of data and metadata digital television equipment and solutions, and Dotcast Inc, a national provider of digital entertainment delivery and management services, announce an agreement to integrate the Triveni Digital SkyScraper data broadcasting system within the Dotcast Digital Network.
The Dotcast Digital Network is a new, nationwide network for the distribution of digital entertainment. It can target the delivery of movies, music, games, and other entertainment programming to individual households far more cost effectively than today’s broadband alternatives. This rich-media content can be delivered wirelessly to television set-top boxes and PCs in more than 100 million US homes, as well as, mobile devices, handheld digital media players, location-based kiosks, and corporate servers. Dotcast will use Triveni Digital’s SkyScraper to augment their digital entertainment delivery network with ATSC transmissions. SkyScraper enables Dotcast to insert customized local, regional, and national datacasting content.
"The SkyScraper data broadcasting platform extends Dotcast’s ability to support broadcaster and service provider partners by enhancing the DTV datacasting management within the Dotcast Digital Network," said David Atkinson, CEO and Chairman of Dotcast. "We are excited to be working with Triveni, the market leader in DTV datacasting technology."
"We are pleased to integrate our SkyScraper data broadcasting platform with a nationally operated data distribution network such as Dotcast," said Mark Simpson, President and CEO of Triveni Digital. "This will provide additional motivation to broadcasters, broadcaster groups, and networks to consider a new revenue stream utilizing their DTV spectrum resources."
Triveni Digital and Dotcast will jointly demonstrate a Dotcast Digital Network ATSC transport stream containing audio and video programming being delivered to a Dotcast equipped set-top box. The demonstration takes place at NAB 2002 in the Triveni Digital booth, L18764, at the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
