Triveni Digital, the leading provider of high performance, open standards digital television (DTV) solutions for data enhanced broadcasting, is proud to announce that DTV Plus and Capitol Broadcasting Company have officially launched their TotalCast datacasting service using Triveni Digital technology, as of August 22.

TotalCast is a service of DTV Plus that broadcasts broadband content directly to personal computers using the digital television signal. Current content includes video - on - demand from WRAL news, custom news microsite from WRAL.com, computer games, short films, software, and other local programming. All of this content is received by the accessDTV Digital Media Receiver, a PCI card and software solution optimizing the full digital spectrum of audio, video and data content. The content is stored on the end user's hard disk where it is available for nearly instant access. Triveni Digital's technology provides the enabling infrastructure for TotalCast through its SkyScraper system, consisting of the SkyScraper DataFab/Hub and SkyScraper DataReceiver.

Triveni Digital's SkyScraper DataFab/Hub was installed at WRAL for DTV Plus and provides the tools for DTV Plus to schedule, insert, and manage enhanced data and bandwidth securely. Triveni Digital's SkyScraper DataReceiver middleware enables data extraction from the incoming ATSC transport stream and integrates with the accessDTV Digital Media Receiver and the TotalCast application software.
